a group of people with hands joinedThe heart of the H. C. Johnson PTO is our parent, teacher, and school staff volunteers who give their time to plan, coordinate, and staff our many events and fundraisers.  Without these helping hands, we would not be able to put on the family events everyone loves, like Family BINGO Night, the Father-Daughter Sweetheart Dance, and Mother-Son Game Night. Without volunteers, we would not be able to run the fundraisers that enable us to do things like purchase chrome books for the computer lab, Writer’s Workshop for our students, the Promethean Board, or materials and projects to start our new STEM Lab. And without the PTO, there would be no one to organize and staff elementary school staples like the Book Fairs, school pictures, and Holiday Fair.  We need participation to do all these great things that our kids love and that give them a strong educational foundation.

There are many ways to get involved.  Give just a few hours to staff one of the events. Build your own skills by chairing a committee. Bring your ideas and energy to our monthly meetings.  Help out in an area where you have expertise, like marketing or finance or hospitality (our teachers LOVE the “thank you” luncheons we hold twice a year). It’s up to you how much time to give — all we ask is that you do what’s comfortable and rewarding for you and the kids.  To volunteer, come to a monthly meeting or email us.  For an idea of the opportunities, visit the Events page, the Fundraising page, and the Committees page.
